The audio is served in an encrypted format chunked via the MediaSource Extensions (MSE) API and then the player fetches, decrypts, and feeds each chunk to the browser’s audio engine in real time. It’s a reasonable-ish approach for a small platform. It stops casual right-clickers. It stops people opening the network tab and downloading the raw response file, only to discover it won’t play. For most users, that friction is sufficient.
