这是西安红火了很多年的地方。在我印象中，上世纪八九十年代，这里就是人头攒动的吃食一条街。后来不断拓展边界，更是成为西安“美食之都”的“白菜心”。记得我第一次走进麻家十字时，是有些瞠目结舌的。那还是1980年代初，肉奶蛋禽类，并非寻常百姓的日常餐饮，但牛羊肉在这里，却是整条整只地悬挂于一些高大的铺面内，分切出的块头，也大得令人惊愕、眼馋。那么“硬扎”的一块块里脊、腱子、臀腿，也不知都是谁拎回家下锅去了。我们那时吃肉，好像一礼拜，能割个八两、一斤，也就是“油掺面的好日子”了。而烤肉、泡馍、蒸煮、大骨，在这里是“尽饱咥（吃）”。有人吃一晚上烧烤，最后数签子，能达到三百根以上。我们总是吃上三几十串，就以吃多了不好消化为名，匆忙起身走人了。因而，这里是我西安记忆中，带着浓烈胃口、味觉、味蕾、馋相的地方。
